Abstract

The purpose of this research are to describe the comliance of the principles of language
politeness in the novel Lafal Cinta by Kurniawan Al-Isyhad and its implication for Indonesian
language learning in senior high school. The data analysys in this study used the extralingual
equivalent method and contextual analysys method.The results of this research indicate that in
the novel Lafal Cinta by Kurniawan Al-Isyhad there is compliance with the principles of the
politeness in language which include the tact maxim, generousity maxim, approbation maxim,
modesty maxim, agreement maxim, and sympathy maxim. The results of this research have
implication for learning Indonesian in Senior High School in class XI in the odd semester K.D
7.1 Analyzing the intrinsic and extrinsic elements of Indonesian novels/translated novels.
