Establishing Student Leadership Character through Intra-School Student Organization (OSIS) at YPT Vocational School, Tegal City

Abstract

The character of students in the era of globalization has decreased, including Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) students. The decline in noble values and norms, this can be seen from the many students who are irresponsible, do not respect authority figures, use abusive language, self- destructive behavior, selfishness, and others. In this case the school's effort to overcome this problem is through the OSIS (Organisasi Intra Sekolah). The purpose of this study is to describe the attitude of students in participating in organizations, especially the OSIS at SMK YPT Kota Tegal, and to be able to make students whose leadership spirit is formed with dignity and the life of the nation. In this research used qualitative methods. Collecting data in this study using observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed: (1) students can learn to work in teams, manage time, and face challenges. Apart from that, they also have the opportunity to learn to interact with other students, teachers, and the school, thereby developing social skills,

(2) Students who are members of the OSIS SMK YPT Kota Tegal have a good understanding of issues related to school and student activities. Think critically, find the best solutions, and carry out tasks with dedication and on time.
