Abstract
This research was conducted at PT. Ahmadaris Tegal, a company engaged in the medical equipment industry, especially the production of gauze for the needs of various hospitals. As a company that supplies medical products, PT. Ahmadaris Tegal prioritizes product quality as a top priority to maintain consumer trust and meet strict quality standards in the health sector. Improving product quality is essential to maintain competitiveness in the market and meet customer demand that increasingly demands high standards in health products. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the quality control of gauze products using the Six Sigma method, identify the main causes of product rejects, and provide suggestions for improvements that can be implemented by the company to reduce the reject rate by conducting basic mentality training for operators to reduce human error. The data used in this study are the company's monthly production reports from January to June 2023. During that period, the total production of gauze reached 251,530 kg, with the number of reject products amounting to 4,003 kg. Based on the analysis using the Six Sigma method, the sigma level obtained was at the level of 2,48. This figure shows that there is a potential quality loss of 16,695 kg per million units of production produced. This result indicates that the reject rate in the company is still relatively high, so evaluation and improvement are needed in the production process to reduce the reject rate, reduce production costs, and improve overall product quality.
