PRODUCTION PLANNING AND CONTROL AT PT. ABC USING THE AGGREGATE PLANNING METHOD

Abstract

In the manufacturing industry, proper production planning is crucial to ensure the availability of the right products and to reduce production costs or optimize company expenses. Companies face challenges in dealing with fluctuations in consumer demand while managing the limited resources at their disposal. The purpose of this study is to develop an efficient and effective production planning at PT. ABC. To achieve this goal, the researcher uses the aggregate planning method, with forecasting, which involves production scheduling, and capacity planning is chosen to address these issues. This method helps to predict production needs more efficiently, taking into account several factors such as production capacity, production costs, and labor costs. This study is based on the company's production data to analyze the appropriate planning needed to control the company’s production processes and improve its efficiency. The results of this research are expected to provide useful recommendations for PT. ABC to enhance the efficiency of its product processing. This study also emphasizes the importance of having proper production planning and control systems within a company.
